I think Trouble and I are bonding. He curls up on my legs at night, and then wakes me up at five in the morning by sticking his nose in my ear and licking my cheek. It might be true love. Now, if only I could get him to use the yard instead of, well ... the house, as a loo.
I don't know what I'm going to do with all my free time this summer. Of course, I say that every summer and manage to find something to keep me busy. I'll probably help out more at the bakery, of course. And keep bonding with Trouble, of course.

I adopted a puppy this morning.

I've never had a pet, and I hadn't planned to adopt one, but when I met that sweet little hyper guy, I couldn't say no. Plus, I've always kind of wanted a pet. Even though I don't know how to take care of one
He doesn't have a name yet, I've just been calling him "puppy" and "boy" since I got him home. Any name ideas?

I'm glad the hols are over. When I was in school, I used to wish the hols would last forever, but now I actually look forward to the school year. I think that's one of the first signs of insanity.

I managed to trade in my ticket for one that got me home all of twelve hours earlier, but I'm home, regardless. And haven't slept because I was awake all night baking.
So, since we still have a few more days of holiday, anyone want to do go out and do anything?

I'll be spending Easter with my family in London. Then, on Monday morning, I'm flying to Poland to visit Piotr's g- the cousin I stayed with a few years ago, and some ... friends I made while I was there, too. I'll only be out there for a few days, I'm coming back on Thursday.
Of course, I learned my lesson about being impulsive with these kinds of decisions: the plane tickets were expensive, and my flight out is leaving at seven in the morning. But I'm kind of looking forward to going. Sorta

My uncle came home today. He mostly sat around the bakery while the rest of us worked, since the Healers have cautioned him to continue to take it easy, but he managed to decorate the office for mum and grandmum for Mothering Sunday. We're all just so happy he's okay and home.

I just wanted to apologise for not being ... myself at work for the past few weeks. Especially to Hannah and Dane, since you two have had to pick up my slack in the kitchens.
I'm not making excuses, just saying that my uncle was admitted to St. Mungo's on the first, after he collapsed while getting our family's shop ready to open. We've all been pretty much spending all of our time, outside of work, at the hospital with him, and so I've been distracted with all that.
On the plus side, he's finally getting better. Not a whole lot yet, but ... he is doing better, so we're all relieved, and now I can finally concentrate on work.
Anyway, I'm baking biscuits tonight to bring in for the staff lounge tomorrow. Any requests?

Last night was fun, we should do it again sometime. I'm such a lightweight, though! One drink and I was tipsy, two and I was nicely buzzed. Three and I told John he was fit At least I wasn't horribly hungover this morning. Which, it sounds like, a lot of the rest of you can't say.
I just made a fresh batch of nut-stuffed biscuits if anybody wants some.

Maybe I'm in the minority here, but I'm happy to be back. Then again, I'm just the one feeding the kids, not having to get their attention again after break. But I have practically nobody to feed during the breaks, so I'm glad to have people to cook for again.
Which reminds me: I'm planning to test a new recipie for strawberry kołacz, and I could use some taste-testers. Anyone interested?
